HARP LESSONS
There are about as many approaches to playing the harp as there are people. While there are those who insist that there is only one way to play the harp, the fact remains that the world of harp is as beautifully diverse and colorful as the human family itself.

A good teacher will be able to meet the students where they are, and take them where they want to go. Besides possessing the quality of patience and the ability to discover fun within the learning process, I think it is important for a teacher to be well versed in many musical styles and traditions: Classical, Jazz, Pop, Latin American, African American, and Celtic, just to name a few.

Being a good musician with an extremely versatile background does not necessarily make for a good teacher - but it definitely helps. It helps in meeting the students interest where they are at any given time, and it helps to take them where they want to go.  I have found that if a student has a personal investment and a genuine interest in the material being presented, they learn at a much accelerated rate.

Teaching is a two way street: students learn to play music that they themselves enjoy, and I learn how to listen to interests of others.

Private lessons are $25 for a half hour and $50 for an hour. Generally lessons are once a week, though more than one lesson per week or lessons every other week are possible depending on my current availability and the needs of the student.

I also offer combined lessons with parents/children, siblings, and friends who want to learn together. Please call me for information about rates and availability if you are interested in a combined lesson plan.

Please call or email me for information about my availability.
